Winding Down
After I have spent the day working, taking care of obligations, and fulfilling my interests, I will end the day by sitting in my chair to relax. Most of the time I will watch a movie. I have a particular taste for movies. For example, some of my favorite films have been directed by Quentin Tarantino and Martin Scorsese.
I am also working on spending more time reading during the evening as I wind down. Currently, I am reading Breakfast of Champions by Kurt Vonnegut. I find his writing style very punchy, humorous, and still relevant. Once I decide a time to crawl into bed and prepare my coffee for the morning, I take about 5-10 minutes to journal. I ask myself three questions at the end of every day.
What can I reflect on?
What can I improve on?
What can I celebrate?
These three questions really ground me and give me peace of mind as I crawl into bed to sleep.
