Within the United States, veterans are remembered in memorials, with programs, and services. The Veterans Affair hospital is a hospital branch of the United States government and acts to treat veterans. They deal with mental health, illnesses, surgeries, and anything that the veteran may have gained while in service and also outside of service.

Another government funded projects is the Honor Flight. The Honor Flight is a program involving multiple hubs across the United States to honor veterans and their service to their country. Participation in this flight brings veterans a chance to experience this flight trip with fellow veterans, remember those who they lost to war, and share stories with one another. In 2019 alone, the Honor Flight program has flown 23,045 veterans total, and since 2005 they have flown a total of 245,178 veterans. See https://www.honorflight.org for more information.
