Abstract

Pyrrolines are 5-membered heterocyclic organic compounds which possess different types of activities including anti-cancer and anti-bacterial. Also, pyrrolines are an important intermediate for obtaining other nitrogen containing 5-membered ring heterocycles. This poster describes the two-step synthesis completed and separation of the pyrrolines from side products and unreacted material. The project focuses on the final yield optimization of pyrroline from the sulfonamide synthetic material. The dependence of pyrroline formation is due to the interaction of solvents and the ratio between reagents which were observed. Through many optimization trials of slightly changing the reaction conditions each time, have allowed us to improve the final yield of pyrrolines from 41.38% to 95.45%.
