Geographic Information

Johnstown was a collection of many smaller bouroughs and villages including Cambria, Woodvale, and Johnstown itself along with smaller collections of homes. The majority of people worked for the Cambria Steel and Iron company which also owned the majority of the land in the area and was a major producer of steel and barbed wire. The entire collection of towns and homes sat on the Conemaugh river which was damed at the South Fort Dam
