Treatment of slaves

The period of slavery also brings light to the treatments that they were receiving. African Americans whether they were free or slaves were being punished or killed if they tried to disobey their owner. This did not stop the slaves who were in search of freedom to try to escape. After the Civil War there were still negative actions towards the African Americans because some people from the South (Confederates) felt that it was the slaves’ fault that their lives had to change. The end of slavery was just the beginning of the fight and movement of justice for an equal life.
