Home bombing
On January 30, 1956, an unidentified suspected white supremacist terrorist bombed the Montgomery home of Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. No one was harmed, but the explosion outraged the community and was a major test of King’s steadfast commitment to non-violence. News of the bombing spread rapidly through the community sparking outrage From neighbors and others in the civil rights movement. a few moments later doctor Martin Luther King gave an impromptu speech about the importance of nonviolence and hope there'd be no retaliation for these heinous actions. he then gave the famous quote “I want you to love our enemies.”
