Starting the day
This day starts off at 8 am, as my alarm goes off, and I slowly make sure to grab everything that I will need. I make sure to grab my keys as I head out the door, and make the drive to my job, where I make it by 9:30, which gives me enough time to make my breakfast that I brought, drink my coffee, and wait until the day begins.
Starting when the pharmacy opens at 10 am, I am usually in the pharmacy by ten minutes until we open, just to make sure that everything in the day is running as it should. After checking the queue, we open and have a rush from the public, medstat clinics, doctor's offices, and many more as prescriptions flow in. One of my main jobs is to make sure that when prescriptions come in, I need to make sure that the patient's insurance is on file, and that we are able to process the prescription without any problems.
I tend to juggle filling prescriptions, calling insurance companies, calling patients to remind them that their medications are ready, and also making sure the pharmacist is able to get the prescriptions that are waiting done within the required time. It's a lot of work, including when you are part of a team of three.
Then, by 1:30 pm, we shut down the pharmacy to have our thirty minute lunches. During this time gives me breather to hide away from people and simply focus on what I want to do, which most of the time is enjoying my lunch and playing a game to take my mind off of the day. After 2pm, we are back in the pharmacy, and continuing our day until 6pm rolls around for us to finally close.
