Reflection
Commemorating any historical events is not only important--it's necessary. It is the duty of historians to keep local, national, and international history alive in order to provide a factual basis on any events as well as to educate future generations on their history. But why continue to commemorate and analyze the events of 9/11 after so many years and so many memorials later?
It is our duty as historians to cotinue challenging our information in pursuit of the entire truth. I feel as though there is still a gap of information on how 9/11 has affected American mindset and mental health as well as how it has affected political governance. For me, that is why it was necessary to research and fill in these gaps of information. Yes, 9/11 occurred over 20 years ago, but it has greatly affected our society to this day so we must continue researching on the importance of this events. You know what they say, without knowledge of our history, we are doomed to repeat it.
